ORMS Gets Update on Volkwagen’s Progress

On February 23 during the regular Ocoee Region Multicultural Services monthly meeting, Guenther Scherelis, General Manager for Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations, provided an update on the progress of the Volkswagen plant being built just south of Cleveland, TN at Enterprise South.   Scherelis began the session with a brief history of Volkswagen and a quick overview of the line of products being made by the company.  Scherelis later commented about Volkswagen’s intentionality in having a diverse workforce at the Chattanooga plant which is apart of Volkwagen’s strategic plan to become the #1 automaker by 2018.  Scherelis ended the session by answering questions from the audience made up of Cleveland and Bradley County officials and business leaders.
