Building Community through Diversity

Mosaic (Ocoee Region Multicultural Services, ORMS) is an organization dedicated to promoting community awareness and the harmonious acceptance of ethnic and cultural diversity among its citizens.
We work to provide the means and the tools necessary to build an empowered community that will embrace and utilize its own diversity.

Mosaic is a 501 (c) (3)  non-profit organization in Cleveland, TN, which was founded in 2005 by a group of community leaders around City Mayor Tom Rowland.
Mosaic strives to build community through cultural diversity. Our organization seeks to serve the needs of the multicultural, international and diverse populations in the Ocoee Region.
We educate businesses, educators, churches, and the community at large about reaching out to, including and empowering immigrants in our area.

Cleveland is home to people from more than 60 different countries and cultural backgrounds. With the growth of diversity within our area, immigrants need easy access to a broad array of high-quality and highly effective workforce development and community services.

We provide interpreters in several languages and promote cultural literacy through various workshops and programs.  In the past we focused directly on language support and translation services for all of the schools in Cleveland City and Bradley County
through a three-year partnership with the Healthy Students and Safe Schools Initiative. For the year 2011 Mosaic is a proud partner with The United Way of Bradley County to provide language support for schools, churches and area businesses.

Immigrants today, just as in the past, have much to contribute to the culture and economics of the United States, and it is our goal to provide them the support they need to fulfill their potential, and the potential of this, their adopted country.

  1. Hello,
I have recently been named the chairman of the Cultural Diversity Committee for the River Counties Association of Realtors. In the past we have served our local area in varous ways, promoting Fair Housing, both in the community and the local school system, as well as supporting the Cultural Diversity festival at Lee University. I’d love to meet with you to discuss other ways our Association can be involved for the upcoming 2009 year.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
    Sincerely,
    Carol Kamm
